Abstract
On November 8, Minister of Ecology and Environment Huang Runqiu met with British Minister of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Theresa Coffey in Beijing. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as Sino-British ecological and environmental cooperation, the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), and promoting the implementation of the "Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework" (hereinafter referred to as the "Kunming-Montreal Framework").
Huang Runqiu thanked the British side for its support to China as the chairman of the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15), introduced China's great achievements in the field of ecological environment in recent years and the recently released Action Plan for Methane Emission Control, put forward relevant suggestions to promote the success of the first global inventory of COP28, and emphasized that China will actively promote the full implementation of the "Kunmeng Framework" and look forward to further expanding areas of cooperation between the two sides, jointly promote environmental and climate exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
Coffey introduced the UK's policies, measures and results in the field of environmental protection and climate change, highly appreciated China's contribution to promoting the "Kunmeng Framework", and is willing to deepen practical cooperation with China to jointly address global environmental and climate challenges.
