On October 26, 2020, the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration issued an announcement to adjust the Catalogue of Measuring Instruments for Mandatory Management. According to the announcement, according to the structural characteristics and use conditions of the work measuring instruments subject to compulsory verification, compulsory verification adopts two methods: only the first compulsory verification and periodic verification. And the use of a number of instruments to make a distinction, such as industrial gas meters need periodic verification, domestic gas meters for the first time mandatory verification, limited use, due rotation. Announcement of the General Administration of Market Supervision on Adjusting the Catalogue of Measuring Instruments Subject to Compulsory Management
In order to continuously optimize the business environment and further implement the reform measures of "release and service", the General Administration of Market Supervision decided to adjust the catalogue of measuring instruments for compulsory management. The adjusted Catalogue of Measuring Instruments Subject to Compulsory Management (hereinafter referred to as the Catalogue) is hereby promulgated.
1. From the date of promulgation of this announcement, measuring instruments listed in the catalogue and supervised by means of "type approval" and "type approval and compulsory verification" shall be subject to type approval or type approval of imported measuring instruments; other measuring instruments shall no longer be subject to type approval or type approval of imported measuring instruments.
2. from the date of this announcement, work measuring instruments listed in the catalogue and supervised by "compulsory verification" and "type approval and compulsory verification" shall be subject to compulsory verification in use, and other work measuring instruments shall no longer be subject to compulsory verification. Users can choose non compulsory verification or calibration methods to ensure accurate measurement.
3. From the date of the promulgation of this announcement, the market supervision departments at all levels shall terminate the administrative licensing procedures according to law for measuring instruments that are not within the scope of type approval of the catalogue but have not yet completed the type approval; the measurement technical institutions at all levels shall continue to complete the verification work for the work measuring instruments that are not within the scope of compulsory verification of the catalogue, but have not yet completed the verification.
4. According to the structural characteristics and use conditions of the work measuring instruments for compulsory verification, the following two methods are adopted for compulsory verification:
1. Only do the first mandatory verification. According to the implementation mode, it is divided into: only the first compulsory verification, inaccurate and scrapped; Only the first compulsory verification, limited use, due rotation.
2. Periodic verification.
The verification period of work measuring instruments 5. compulsory verification shall be determined by the corresponding verification regulations. Where the verification cycle specified in the metrological verification regulations is revised, the revised verification regulations shall prevail.

7. From the date of this announcement, the Announcement of the General Administration of Market Supervision on Issuing the Catalogue of Measuring Instruments Subject to Compulsory Management (No. 48 of 2019) shall be repealed, and the fourth relevant document repealed shall remain repealed.
